Happy Mother's Day

May
14

Its a day late but I hope all of you mother's had a great day. We spent the day out at my parents house and were able to get a couple of good family pictures before we changed out of our church clothes. It was such a nice day outside that Dad and I worked on the deck trying to finally get a railing put up since Carson has figured out how to open up the screen door and go outside all by himself.

Mixed Emotions

May

Today I packed away all Carson's bottles into a tote.  I have mixed emotions as I am so proud of him for growing up and using his sippy cup.  On the otherhand it's one more sign that he is no longer my little baby.

Here's some pictures from our mom and son day :)  Also with a lot of encouragement Carson kicked a ball a couple times today.

Uh-Oh

May
12

Uh-Oh has quickly become the favorite phrase at our house. No matter what Carson does it is always uh-oh. It started out just as uh- but has now progressed to include -oh on the end. Even if he does something on purpose like throwing his sippy cup on the floor from his highchair "Uh-Oh" it's pretty cute.

Farmer's Market

May
12

Today was our first trip to the farmer's market of the year. Carson did a fairly good job of being a salesman with Grandpa. He was a little shy and wasn't telling as many people hi as usual, but there were so many people there that he just had to take it all in.

Great Day!

May
08

Carson and I had great day together! We had lots of time to play indoors and out, meet dad for lunch (Phat Jack's BBQ has a great new location and same amazing food), and a trip to the zoo. Favorites at the zoo this time were playing in the gravel play areas and pointing to all the animals. Love his curiosity, smiles, determination and how he is so social!

First Haircut

May
07

Carson had his first haircut on May 6, 2012 at just over 14.5 months old by Grandma Janda.  He was getting a lot of curls in the back and we decided it was time.  We started with toys to distract him in the high chair and ended up on my lap after a few tears.  It makes him look even older!

Love this little guy!

May
07

It's crazy just when I don't think it's possible to love this little guy anymore it happens.  Before I felt like I  was able to keep up writing about all of Carson's "new" things but now he learns so much each day!  On to other new things...  As of today I am officially working prn at Madonna and Bryan hospital.  I plan to work around 3 days a week and have the opportunity to be with Carson more.  We also sold our house after being on the market for two days and have a closing date the end of June.  We found a house to rent in Malcolm and will keep a lookout for the perfect acreage.

Happy May Day

May
01

Growing up I remember celebrating May Day with making baskets and putting candy or flowers from our yard such as lilacs if they were blooming.  My mom would drive us to our grandparents and we would run up to the door, ring the doorbell and then run quickly away so we wouldn't get caught.  So I decided Carson needed to experience May Day in our neighborhood.  I made these cute baskets and we went on a walk to deliver them.  Carson made May Day baskets at daycare today and got a basket from his little neighbor girl buddy.  He had a lot of fun taking the candy in and out and out and in of the cup.

Creative attempt

Apr
27

We have a college friend getting married this weekend and found a gift on their registry. Then the dilemma came up for wrapping since by the size a gift bag wasn't going to work. I hate paying for gift wrapping as it seems like such a waste...Then we were walking by the towels and this idea came to me to use towels to wrap the gift. The couple had registered for towels that were gray on one side and black on the other side with a pattern on one end. So we bought two towels and one washcloth or "bow" and used some safety pins to keep it together. Overall it turned out better than I thought.

Now I am working on some May Day baskets and got Carson's scrapbook stuff back out which hasn't been updated since his birthday.
