I can freely admit it I am a nerd.  I have been trying to get away from Microsoft Windows and paying for software for a long time now.  I think I have finally made it about 75% there.  I was finally able to find a Linux system that would run with my video card on my computer, I found some virtualization software that is free (VirtualBox) and now the only thing that I really need Windows for is to work on this website.  When I wrote it I didn't want to take the time to learn php or something like that so I wrote it in ASP.net.
I am starting to be proud to say that I am trying to kick the Windows habit and working with it less and less at home. At work its a different story as my job is a web programmer in ASP.net. Its not as bad as it sounds and I really love it.

This came up in our house the other night, some tips and tricks to do with Internet Explorer.

With the new IE 7, Microsoft introduced tabbed browsing, if you would like multiple tabs to open up each time you start the browser you can do this.  Open all of your tabs in the order that you would like them, and then click on the little arrow next to the image of the house.  Choose the option Use the current tab set as your home page.  This will open this set of tabs in this order each time you open Internet Explorer.

If for some reason that your tabs get out of the order that you like them to can always rearrange them, just click on the tab and drag it to the spot on the tab bar that you would like it to be.

If you would like to open a link in a new tab you can click on the wheel button of your mouse and that will open the link inside of a new tab.

Stay tuned for more computer tips and tricks...
